The New Kid In The Boost Collective Digital Block

Written by Ashanté Dlamini-Mthembu

With digital being the new normal in the marketing sphere, Boost Collective expanded its digital headcount when they recently welcomed the savvy millennial, Zinhle Zikalala as Digital Content Manager.

Zinhle was born and bred against the beautiful backdrops of the Maluti Mountains in the heart of Kwa-Zulu Natal and later jetted off to Bloemfontein in pursuit of a Media Studies and Journalism degree. “This career field attracted my attention as it fosters community, strategic thinking and creativity amongst socially conscious individuals,” says Zinhle.

Key to the expansion of her social graph and reinventing herself, is the desire to learn—a mind-set that stays fluid and facilitates personal growth. Zinhle’s experience spans the digital and publishing industry. She has been employed on and offline publications including Pride Magazine, Contagious Magazine and Women’s Health Magazine.

Zinhle’s background taught her what comes of humble beginnings and fostered the belief that in life anything is possible. In her free time, Zinhle works on a project dear to her heart.  She wanted the same for those who grew up in a similar background as hers but were not as privileged as she was and started an initiative called, Ignite Young Minds SA which helps kids from the rural areas broaden their horizon in terms of the different career fields they can venture into.”

With that said, Zinhle is very determined to make the most of her time at Boost Collective. She believes that her time at Boost Collective will not only empower her career development, but it would give her the framework to grow herself and find better ways to serve others, like the youngsters who face so many challenges daily. “Needless to say, I am excited to be part of a small team that has a big vision. Boost Collective and the Okuhle Group are my new family and I’m going to do what it takes to support taking this company to the next level,” says Zinhle.
