South Africa’s favourite outdoor cooking show, Ultimate Braai Master kicks off 2019 with Season 6.
This season sees contestants from all around the country battle the coals in rough weather and rugged terrain, all in a bid to be crowned this year’s winner of the Cash, the Car and the Title. The winning team takes home a cash prize of R400 000, a brand new Suzuki IGNIS and most importantly, the title of Ultimate Braai Master.
Ultimate Braai Master is sponsored by takealot.com, Shell, Windhoek Lager, and supported by Premier Foods, Woody’s and Twinsaver. The show presenter Justin Bonello puts contestants through their paces, testing them not only on their braai skills but physically, emotionally and mentally as well. The show’s motto, ‘come rain, wind or shine, we braai!,’ will truly be taken to new heights in this season.
Says Justin Bonello, ‘There are so many memorable moments that it’s always difficult to highlight one. Ultimately, the show takes our contestants, who come from all walks of life and brings them together around the fire, which ultimately ends in them forming unbreakable bonds and inseparable friends. This for me is truly the best part of the show.’
Bonello goes on to say that all of the teams brought something different this season.
‘I think we have a great slice of South Africa in this year’s show. From home cooks to chefs, brothers, to mom and daughter combo’s – every team brings something unique to the game. However when we put them under pressure, it doesn’t matter how good you are, because this game is like no other, with twists and turns around every corner.’
‘Survive the pressure and you live to fight another day, break, and you could be packing up and making your way home. This is what separates the Braai Masters from the rest,’ concludes Bonello.
